…And the Most Dishkiyaon Male Actor Awards goes to

Ranveer Singh

One of the highest paid actors in the country, the colourful chameleon who has played as many different roles as he has done films, Ranveer Singh is the actor most loved by Dishkiyaon voters. Ranveer first appeared on the big screen in Band Bajaa Baraat in 2010 as the lovable wedding planner Bittoo Sharma, and since then he has played a conman, a cop, an archaeologist, a Maratha king, an Afghan dynast, and recently, a musician risen from the slums of Mumbai. What will he do next? Accept this award of course!

The Most Dishkiyaon Female Actor Award goes to…

Alia Bhatt

Dimple-cheeked Alia Bhatt is the female actor with most Dishkiyaon factor according to our voters. At a young age, Alia has received critical appreciation for playing nuanced characters such as the girl with the Stockholm Syndrome in Highway, the young cinematographer in Dear Zindagi, and the Indian RAW agent in Raazi. But she can also do fun, like she proved to us in Student of the Year, 2 States, and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Alia is indeed, the most Dishkiyaon of them all.

The ‘Kya Baat Hai’ Movie of the Year Award goes to…

Badhaai Ho

Congratulations to those Dishkiyaon voters who made a film like Badhaai Ho win! Not only is this movie a bagful of laughs in one of India’s favourite settings, the family drama, it also deals with certain sensitive issues surrounding societal perceptions and hypocrisies quite cleverly. Each character is perfectly believable in their respective role and therefore we are not the least bit surprised that Badhaai Ho is the most voted film. Kya baat hai! Badhaai Ho ko badhaai ho!

The Most Dishkiyaon ROFL Actor Award goes to…

Rajkummar Rao

Considered to be a highly bankable star in Bollywood, Rajkummar Rao is also our Dishkiyaon voters’ choice for being certifiably laughter-inducing as well. The doomed lover of the bewitching Stree gave us so much to roll on the floor about with his genuine expressions of ignorance and confusion that it must have been hard to stop laughing and press the vote button for him.

The ‘Mere Pass Maa Hai’ Award for the Most Dishkiyaon Dialogues in a Film goes to…

Raazi

Every once in a while a movie comes along to give us a truly Dishkiyaon dialogue that we know we will be using as our pet expression for years to come. The film Raazi has clearly stuck out for its meme-orable dialogues because it has received the most votes for the ‘Mere Pass Maa Hai’ Award. We imagine Raazi’s award acceptance speech will go something like: Watan ke aage kuch nahi, khud bhi nahi.

The ‘Old Wine In A New Bottle’ Award for the most Dishkiyaon remix goes to…

The Aankh Maare Remix from Simmba

While most remixes make us go “Oh God! One more remix?” This one is very welcome as has been proven by all the Dishkiyaon votes it has received for its sick beats and moves that literally light up the screen. Adapted from the original song performed on screen by Arshad Warsi and Priya Gill in Tere Mere Sapne, Aankh Maare the remix version with Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan retains its original fun upbeat vibe but adds a contemporary finesse to the score and lyrics.

The ‘Hook Step of the Year’ Award for the Most Dishkiyaon Dance Number goes to…

Dil Chori

Yo Yo Honey Singh’s rendition of Hans Raj Han’s original Dil Chori Sada Ho Gaya in the film Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety has some really infectious moves that got our Dishkiyaon voters to vote this the most dance-worthy track of the year.
