1) All we know about the story

Kesari takes us back to the end of 19th century and revolves around the brave Battle of Saragarhi. Played by Akshay Kumar, this is a story about Havildar Ishar Singh and 21 brave Sikh men who fought against 10,000 Afghans on September 12, 1897. As of now, the movie is slated to release by Holi 2019.

2) The star cast

Parineeti Chopra who plays the female lead of Kesari, is alleged to be Akshay Kumar’s daughter in the film. She is one of the pivotal characters of the story, based on whom the whole battel was fought. The movie features an ensemble star cast consisting of Randeep Hooda, Mohit Raina, Ashutosh Jha, Abhiroy Singh Cheema, Ashwatt Bhatt and Mir Sarwar.

3)The co-producers and director

Kesari was initially only under the banner of Dharma Productions. Later, Isha Ambani and Twinkle Khanna ventured in with Karan Johar. It is now primarily going to be under the banner of Dharma Productions, followed by Reliance Entertainment and Cape of Good Films.Kesari is directed by Anurag Singh, famous for directing movies like Jatt & Juliet series, Punjab 1984, and Disco Singh. He is quite an important name to the Punjabi film industry and is all set to improve his Bollywood recognition.

4) Looks unveiled

As of now, only two pictures have come out from the sets of Kesari. Akshay’s character seems to have attracted many eyeballs since then. His khaki avatar and big yellow turban with a mustache and long beard fits into the look of a devoted Sikh completely. Another image shows him smiling with his three children around him.

5) The struggles

Historical dramas come with a set of challenges that start with taking people back in time, making the perfects sets, tougher characterizations, and much more. Apart from the regular struggles of the director and actors, the set of Kesari faced a mishap. They were shooting the climax scene when an untimed bomb exploded and burnt a portion of the set. Fortunately, none of the people were injured and things soon went back on track for the cast and crew.
